I don’t know how I managed to live without owning a pair of mom jeans. I never knew its importance, especially for petite fashion! Seriously. I was already in my 20’s when I first bought one, and after that, I just couldn’t stop buying more. I kept researching how to style mom jeans since my jeans collection is like 80 percent mom jeans.
Mom jeans are a wardrobe staple, end of discussion. I personally think every girl should own one. Some of the brands I highly recommend for your casual look include Zara, Cotton-On, H&M, and more.

How to Style Mom Jeans
Crop Top
If I could pick an outfit on any given day, it would always be a crop top, mom jeans, and loafers. This is most likely the basic outfit you’ll see when you search how to style mom jeans. Throw in some top handle handbag and accentuate with gold-plated accessories to make it extra classy. You can add a long coat or cardigan if the weather is cold.
Button Up
For an easy work outfit, pair your mom jeans in a dark wash with a white button-up and red heels or pumps, and a black clutch bag. Make your top a little stylish by opening up some buttons and adding in a layered necklace. This style would look extra good with your hair in a low bun.
Graphic Shirt
I don’t really wear my Chuck Taylors anymore but when I do, I like pairing them with ripped mom jeans and a graphic shirt. You can also add a black leather backpack and cap for a subtle boyish look. Try to minimize your accessories since the outfit is already loud with the printed top and destroyed denim.
Sweater
Mom jeans also look amazing with turtleneck sweaters slightly tucked in—especially when you’re wearing an all-black outfit. Most of my clothes are black, so I wear all-black like 99 percent of the time. Still, I make sure to accentuate with something red, such as a red handbag or high heels, topped off with a classic red lipstick.
Cami
Another work or even date night outfit that I like—mom jeans and a cami top with a long blazer. If your top is a little light-colored, try to wear a bold-colored shoe so your outfit won’t look dull. The blazer can be plaid brown or black, or just a plain one.
Peplum Top
How to style mom jeans on a summer day? Peplum tops and espadrilles make a cute summer outfit. Wear light wash mom jeans with subtle floral prints for your top. Also, I avoid black clothes when it’s hot outside, so my go-to colors are nude or brown shades.
Cardigan
For a Parisian chic look, wear your cardigan as a top with mom jeans and slingback heels. Use a bucket bag the same color as your shoes. For accessories, you can wear statement rings and a layered necklace.
Bodysuit
I have a couple of black bodysuits in different styles that I pair with light-wash mom jeans and mid-calf boots in patent leather. Thank the universe for bodysuits—they just make tucking in a thousand times easier. Since this is a simple outfit, you can style it with as many accessories as you want.
