La Plancha Bali

La Plancha Bali

I went for a walk to Seminyak beach on my second day in Bali. It was kind of a bad idea to do that at 11 in the morning, so after a few minutes of suffering on hot sand and being burnt by the sun, I found a colorful restaurant called La Plancha Bali.

What to try at La Plancha Bali

I immediately ordered the Gourmet Burger (IDR 85,000/PHP 313), which is comprised of 200g of beef, Swiss cheese, caramelized onion, bell pepper, and rucola. You can choose either fries or salad on the side.

I can honestly say that the grilled patty is super yummy! There’s no other way to describe it than savory. They also toast the bun but not as much as burning it, just the right amount of crunch when you bite.

As for the fries, it has slight crispiness enough to balance the texture of the burger.

The funny part is that everyone was looking at me as if underestimating my ability to finish the whole burger. Don’t get me wrong, it was really heavy on the tummy. I was already full halfway through but I did it anyway!

Being a beer person, I (of course) also ordered the local Bintang (IDR 30,000/PHP 110) in lemon flavor. I did love it though I felt like it was too sweet, somehow reminded me of soda. It’s only 2.5 percent alcohol so don’t expect anything to kick in.

All in all, it’s a good pair for the Gourmet Burger.

La Plancha Bali is actually busiest from the afternoon to night. It’s the ideal time if you’re after lively nightlife but I was already good for lunchtime as I wasn’t really looking to party. They also set up colorful bean bags outside in the afternoon.

I can say it’s one of the best parts of my Bali Itinerary. It’s not just about the food—it’s the whole experience.

I don’t get much chance to relax by the beach with a sumptuous meal and ice-cold beer, paired with a good book.

La Plancha Bali is open all week from 10 AM to 12 AM. It’s located at Jalan Mesari Beach, Seminyak, Kuta.
